Trestleboard NewsLetter, July 2011.

Craig B. Dopson WM

Brethren, ,

June is almost over and there are two things it has been famous for: number one is hot and number two is hotter. I hope everyone is staying cool and enjoying this summer.

On June 2, we raised two new Brothers to Master Mason. Please join me in welcoming Brother Michael James Liberty and Brother Cody Wayne Holloman to Harmony Lodge.

The Lodge is very busy this month. On the June 23, we will initiate four gentlemen into the Entered Apprentice Degree. I hope to see a lot of members participating during this significant event.

There has been a lot of sickness in our Masonic Community in the last several weeks. Dick Smith and Otto Haversat are recovering in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Sonny Gay was in MUSC and Jim Lutrell in Hilton Head Hospital. Terrell Altman’s wife Cookie was in Hampton Hospital. Bobby Pinkston’s wife Betty is very sick at home and Clayton Cooler’s wife Frances is ill at home also. Please keep these and others we may have missed in your thoughts and prayers.

June 14 was Flag Day. I hope you remembered to display your Red, White and Blue with pride. I would like to thank all those in the Armed Forces past and present. You protected us so we could have the privilege of displaying our flag. Let’s keep those both home and abroad in our daily devotions.

Our yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 18. I wish to thank our lovely wives of Harmony for all their hard work for the benefit of our Lodge. The money the ladies raise is used to buy kitchen equipment. Over the last year they have purchased dishes, pots, pans and a hall rug. Thank you once again, Ladies.

Fraternally,

Craig Dopson,

Worshipful Master

Brethren, ,

Harmony Lodge continues to be busy with work this year with several candidates in process. The work being performed is very good and the officers are to be commended. It is obvious that they are practicing before degrees. I encourage you to join us for a special communication to see just how good it is.

Worshipful Brother Craig Dopson and his wife Darlene are always planning activities for fellowship and fun as well as for the benefit of the lodge. Darlene always decorates and the two of them have prepared some excellent meals for us. We appreciate their efforts.

Brother Howard R. Harris also is busy with being our newsletter editor. Being newsletter editor requires him to gather submissions from the various officers, compile and arrange them into a pleasing format, print, fold, label and mail. Our newsletter is also available electronically and saves us a great deal of money. If you are interested in receiving your newsletter electronically, please contact Brother Howard and let him know.

Recently, we have made donations to the Veterans Home in Walterboro toward the purchase of a new van; and also sent funds to Masonic Relief for the tornado victims in Alabama.

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer months.

Respectfully and Fraternally,

Kevin V. Ennis, PDDGM

Secretary

Please allow this letter to serve as an informal introduction. My name is Don Kehler, Past Grand Lecturer and member of the Board of Custodians, AF&AM of North Carolina. I have recently completed the purchase of The Temple Publishers, Inc.

As you may know, the Temple Publishers, Inc. is proud to own the exclusive copyrights to Carl H. Claudy’s well known Introduction to Freemasonry set of three books (soft cover at $12.00). Previously out of print, these classic books are available again, through our newly updated online store, www.TheTemplePublishers.com. Other Claudy titles include “The Master’s Book” and “Old Tiler Talks,” among others. The much sought after manuscript, “The Master’s Book,” has been reprinted in hardback and is available on our site. These timeless works are valuable tools for perpetuating Masonic education and preserving Masonic history. They are, in my opinion, the epitome of what Masonry is all about and can provide the thinking being with more light in Masonry.

Corially,

Don Kehler, President

Your Newsletter Editor provides yet another service to the Brethren. If you have a Bible and an Ahiman Rezon, which were awarded to you upon your being raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason, Howard Harris will inscribe them for you with your name, lodge and the dates of your initiation, passing and raising. Give him a call at 843-441-8317 or 843-524-0981 and leave a message, if necessary. He will also respond to your email message(s) at howardharris@hargray.com. Brother Harris uses an italic nib pen to make these inscriptions and the results are not too shabby, if he does say so himself!

As examples of what you may expect, you can be assured that what you will have will look almost exactly and totally nothing whatever like the following, but fairly close:

Fraternally,

Howard R. Harris,

Junior Warden & Newletter Editor
