This is the time of the year when we look back and reflect on the good, the bad and the ugly of the year before. 2010 was a busy year for Harmony Lodge. It was with great sadness that we lost some of our Brothers; they will be greatly missed. We investigated, installed and welcomed new Brothers in abundance. They will be greatly welcomed.
The New Year will be a challenge for me. I only hope that I can fill Worshipful Master Spears’ shoes. Charlie did a wonderful job as Master of Harmony Lodge. He put in long hours working at the Lodge and at his home. I thank him for his dedication, enthusiasm and endurance. I am looking forward to the task of being Worshipful Master of Harmony Lodge. I am sure there are going to be times when I will need help. Don’t be surprised if you get a phone call from me, asking for your assistance.
I am really proud of our new officers. They have already stepped into their new chairs and have started off with a bang. Christian Sherbert and wife Liz have made the kitchen of Harmony Lodge their new domain. As a past Chef of Harmony, I know too well how tough the job is. Please give Christian and Liz a lot of help and support. Cooking the food is only half the job, though the Sherberts do that half so very well.
As we begin the New Year and make our resolutions, please remember to pray for our Brothers, that we make the right choices in the coming year in both our personal and professional lives. Pray for our Troops, those overseas and those at home, that they may find peace and harmony in their lives.
Darlene and I wish everyone a Happy and Blessed New Year.
Fraternally,
Craig Dopson,
Worshipful Master
Brethren, ,
In 2010, we were successful in having a good many candidates start their Masonic journeys at Harmony, which provided the officers and craft with the opportunity to perform a lot of degree work. From my perspec-tive, I believe that our lodge did a good job in this work. I am particularly fortunate to have been able to perform the First Degree several times, as we have rotated through the chairs.
It has been my privilege and pleasure to serve the lodge during 2010 as Junior Warden. It has truly been a meaningful experience for me, and I appreciate the opportunity to have served, as I look forward to 2011 as your Senior Warden.
Fraternally,
Paul Griffin
Senior Warden
Brethren, ,
The holiday season is upon us and I would ask that each of us pause and reflect on the many gifts The Great Architect of the Universe has bestowed on us. We have much to be thankful for. We live in the greatest country on earth and are afforded freedoms and privileges like no other.
Happy New Year,
2010 was another busy year for Harmony Lodge, with lots of degree work (we still have 10 in process) and celebrations. The sale of the Hermitage Road Property and the investment of funds will help us in upcoming years (in fact, we have already received our first annual check).
Now you can help by paying your 2011 dues of $65.25, if you have not already done so. Our lodge operates primarily on the funds we receive from our members’ dues payments and donations. Approximately 66% of our normal operating budget comes from dues. We need those funds so that we may operate. Dues are due for the ensuing year on November 1. For example, 2011 dues are due November 1, 2010 and are good through December 31, 2011.
I hope everyone will reflect on his Masonic year just past and set goals for 2011. Consider attending lodge more regularly, learn a lecture, take on a special project or function at the lodge. When everyone participates, no individual gets burdened with too much. Let’s help our new slate of officers have a wonderful year.
Respectfully and Fraternally,
Kevin V. Ennis, PDDGM
Secretary
Brethren, ,
As the new Junior Warden for 2011, one of my duties is to see to “the superintendence of the craft during the hours of refreshment.” Well, from the Ahiman Rezon, it seems to be my only duty. I am delighted to introduce to the craft our new cook, Brother Christian Sherbert, who volunteered for the post as a result of his enthusiasm for the art and his dedication to the craft. I hope 2011 will prove to be a year of good eats and high spirits, but not too high. Welcome, Brother Sherbert (and Sister Liz Sherbert). In this photo, taken at our open installation meal on December 9, Brother Chris and Sister Liz are seen hard at work overseeing their happy and hungry guests.
I would like to offer a request for volunteers to assist Brother Chris and Sister Liz in the cleanups which always follow the meals. There is no need to rush, just come forward and let them know you’ll ease their burden by loading the dishwasher, taking out the trash or putting away the leftovers. Thank you!
