Harmony Masonic Lodge No.22 A.F.M. News Letter for month of December 2007

Brethren:

As we approach the end of our Masonic year, I urge you to prepair your hears and minds for this season of religious celebration. Each one of us must celebrate as our own hears and minds direct us. Let us all as Masone be thankful to that Great God of the Universe for the unpreceedented freedoms we enjoy and offer prayers of thankfless for this great country, the United State of America and to the mem and women in uniform wherever disbursed over the face of the globe. Our President and Congress need our prayers of support as they lead us. Pray that God direct them in their endeavors. A prayer for universal peace could change the world.

As Worshipful Master, I constantly ask myself I left Harmony 22 better than I gound it? This question can best be answered by you brothers who have worked side-by-side with me during this two year period. I perceive the answer to be somewhere close to maybe, not yes and not no.

Each of us should ask ourselves:

  1. Have I done all that I can do to practice the principles of Freemasonry as I have pledged to do at our sacred altar?
  2. Will dome other man, through my actions and conduct, seek to become a Brother?
  3. Have I contributed in any way to acts of charity that make life better for my distressed worthy Brother of society in general?
  4. Have I participated in any Lodge or Masonic activity that has allowed me to new those vows promises I committed to when I entered the Craft?

We have made some progress, but we have also many shortcomings

  1. Our charitable outreach is zero.
  2. NPDs are not followed through by personal contact. Our gains in membership are offset by members dropped from the rolls by death and nonpayment of dues. Make yourself committee of one to strive to keep our members on the active rolls.
  3. We have no one on the waiting list to join the Craft. This is distressing.

I entered Masonry over 54 years ago. My grandfather, geat granfather and great-great grandfather were also members of Harmony Loge 22. Throughreacearchandstudy, Ihave found the positive role this lodge and its members played in the founding, direction and governing of the Beaufort area. Harmony Lodge was the most respected fraternity in the Beaufort community. Let us regain that respect.

I charge each of you Brothers as men and Masns "ever to kep thisupright position before God and man." I urge you to think prayerfully about the meaning of those words. I belive that mem are judged by how the act, and "by their action you shall know them."

What we accomplish within Lodge is important and through these acts as Masons, how we live our daily lives is the ture test of a man. So will you actions influence others to join our Craft.

I urge each of youto participate and support the efforts of Harmony Lodge 22 as we embarlk on a new community activities in 2008.

I appreciate the confidence shown in me by all of you. I promised my best efforts. Nomancan make or claim to have made Freemasonry better. Masonic traditions and the work woldwide Lodges through the centuries haveproved Masonry to be the greatest fratermity of all time, working to make good men better.

We cannot improve upon Freemasonry's thruth and lessons, but we can work to insure that is confinues through the ages.

"Let us each light a light.

So the world will know we were here"

I urge each of youto carry on those traditons of friendship, morality and brotherly love handed to usmy work of mouth from centuries past.

The happiestof holidays and good health in the coming days to each of you and yourfamilies.

Fraternally,

Henery C. Chambers,

Brethren:
Another year has passedand it is time to elect officers for the ensuring year. Iwould like to remind everyone that elections are Thurday, December 13, 2007.

I would like to tkank the officers of this year for their dedication and performance. Over the past two years with Henry Chambers as Worshipful Master, ourlodgehas seen many changes. We have celebrated our 250th annicersary, purchased new drapery, tablesand chairs, and installed mosaic pavement at our altar to name a few. I hope everyone will takemoment to thank Worshipful Brother Chambers for seeing us through the last two years.

Also because of Henry's kindness, we are potentially at ourmost financially secure posisitionsinceI havebeen a member if this lodge. All we have to do it get our act together and get the auction to take place. Worshipful Brother Chambers has donated many items for the auction which will benifit our lodge financially. We have already seen over $20,000.00 in income to the lodge from these items. Let us pull together and get the wheels turning to make this auction happen in the very near future.

I also want to encourage each member to look over the Perpetual Life Membership Program information included in this newsletter. This might make a good Holiday gift to yourself or for your family to give you. Our dues are only going to increase and this method of dues payment does not hurt our lodge. I have the run the numbers and we only stand to benefit from the Perpetual Life Membership Program.

Have a wonderful and safe Holiday Season!

Fraternally,

Kevin V. Ennis, DDGM
Secretary

As you can plainey see, it will never be less expesive to purchase yo Perpetual Life Membership than it is now.

Purchasing a Perpetuaol Life Membershi has a two-fold benefit. First, your membership is ure to remain current for the rest of your life. No more concerns over "Did I pay my dues yet this year?" or being dried from the membership roll due to Non-Payment of Dues (NPD). Second, your Lodge and Grand Lodge will benefit from your gift in perpetuiry.

How does it work?

A Perfetual Life Membership will pay your Lodge 100% of the interest it ears, as long as your Lodge is required to pay per-capita your membership. After your fortieth year of paying dues, or your death (chichver comes first), Grand Lodge no longer quires a per-capita payment. Your Peretual Life Membeership will contnue to pay yourLodge 75% oftheinterest is earns and pay Grand lodge 25% of the interest it earns on an annual on-going basis.

How do I pay for it?

Option #1: You may complete tha appllication and pay the full amount at any time.
Option #2: Comlete the application and pay three equal installments over a period of three years plus your dues for each ear. (Calculate at rate at time of application.)
